The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) was established by Directorate of Training and Technical Education, Govt of N.C.T of Delhi as the first engineering college for women

1998

B.Tech degree in CSE is introduced

B.Tech degree in ECE is introduced

1998

B.Tech degree in MAE is introduced

2002

The college became the first constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University

2002-2007

Continued to receive Grant-in-aid from Govt. of Delhi

2005

Ph.D (Engg&Tech),Through, USET, GGSIPU is introduced

2007

M.Tech (ECE) part-time is introduced

2010

B.Tech degree in IT is introduced

2011

MCA is introduced

2013

IGIT granted autonomous status as Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women(IGDTUW).

M.Tech(ISM), M.Tech(MPC), M.Tech (R&A) and M.Tech(VLSID) launched.

2014

 Ph.D Program in Engineering, Science and Technology is launched.
 2015  B.Arch program is launched (approval of Council of Architecture granted)
    2016  M.Tech ICT Weekend  introduced
