Taarangana - The Cultural Society

Throughout each academic year students are occupied with eitherexams or technical events, workshops or seminars. Occasionally what they need is a break from this routine and this is what Taarangana (earlier known as RÖNESANS) is all about. The cultural society with Dr. Shalini Arora as the Faculty Advisor aims at providing the students with a platform to develop and showcase their cultural talents.


One of the prominent events held by Taarangana is the Cultural evening, which is held annually. Following the upgradation of IGIT to IGDTUW, the idea of Taarangana’14 was born and as a result the intra college Cultural Evening snowballed into the first extravagant cultural fest of the University- TAARANGANA’14 powered by Brij Events was held on 31st January and 1st February. It was a cynosure of sheer talent and creativity. Attended by students from over 70 colleges- IITD, NSIT, Lady Hardinge, Hansraj, Miranda House and Institue of Home Economics to name a few- the fest witnessed enthusiastic participation and spectatorship. Featuring a myriad array of performances, events, fun games and stalls, ithad something for everyone.


American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Chapter Gravity defying dance performances in Urban Thump, Synnove and Rangrezz, unique and inspiring designs by budding designers in the t2fashion parade -Lilac Dreams, entertaining and enlightening street plays in Aaghaaz, amazing mono acts in Nautanki Unplugged, stunning musical battles in Anhad and The Knights of the Fall, DJ sessions hosted by DJ Raja, stupendous performances by Underground Music League and the multi genre fusion band Turkush, Taarangana’14 had it all. Apart from these eventsvarious literary and fun activities were also organised. Abound with a plethora of events , students were spoilt for choice to register.

Taarangana has also been conducting various cultural events from time to time. In addition, it has also been successfully managing the following societies related to dance, dramatics and SPICMACAY Student Chapters at the campus.
